LIFEGUARD TOWER
Studio Instructor: Carlo Aiello
The lifeguard station looks at how vectors can be used to create a basic self-supporting structural and formal system. As seen in the drawings and study model, the design starts out fairly simple with just slight variations in height of the basswood, but then continues to build in complexity layer by layer. The system is added onto itself and begins to define areas of enclosure. The vector logic is used to facilitate circulation, provide cover, and increase stability.
